Overview

Job Title:  System Engineer 
Location:  Aberdeen Maryland
 
Introduction:
Rivet Operations Company is seeking a highly experienced System Engineer Lead with at least 12 years of expertise in Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC), supporting the full lifecycle of capability package development, integration, deployment, and sustainment in secure environments. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the implementation and customization of secure operating systems and virtualized platforms in alignment with mission-critical objectives and NSA CSfC guidelines. Demonstrates deep technical proficiency in custom Windows OS development, as well as Linux-based virtualization technologies, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and ensure compliance with DoD and IC cybersecurity standards. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) capability packages in accordance with NSA guidelines and customer mission requirements.
• Serve as the technical SME for secure system engineering, providing expert guidance on Windows OS customization and hardened configurations for classified environments.
• Architect, implement, and maintain Linux-based virtualization platforms, including secure containers, hypervisors, and multi-domain separation solutions.
• Perform technical risk assessments, system performance evaluations, and provide mitigation strategies to ensure security compliance and system reliability.
• Ensure all solutions comply with DoD, NSA CSfC, and Intelligence Community (IC) security policies and technical requirements.
 
 

Responsibilities

Job Requirements:
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows operating system customization, configuration hardening, and integration into secure architectures.
• Proven experience with Linux virtualization platforms and secure isolation techniques 
• Strong understanding of NSA CSfC guidelines, DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies, and cross-domain security solutions.
• Experience leading technical teams in the design, implementation, and sustainment of complex IT systems.
• Ability to develop and review technical documentation, including system architectures, implementation guides, and test procedures.
• Proficiency in system integration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in both physical and virtual environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interface with government customers and stakeholders
 
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
 
Physical Requirements:
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. May include lifting to 25 pounds as necessary.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
