Job Title:  Information System Security Officer
Location:  Aberdeen, Maryland
 
Introduction:
Rivet Operations Company is seeking a highly experienced Information Systems Security Officer with 25 years of Information Technology expertise, specializing in COMSEC operations, tactical network design, and information assurance in classified environments. Proficient at operating and maintaining Type 1/High Assurance cryptographic devices and managing end-to-end COMSEC programs. Possesses expert-level knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and associated tools such as iApp, ACES, SKL, TKL, and NGLD, supporting secure and compliant key lifecycle management. Brings deep technical expertise in tactical network architecture, including integration of IP-based networks, SATCOM, terrestrial transmission systems, secure voice, and tactical radio platforms. A solid background in Information Assurance (IA) is supported by previous roles as a firewall administrator and Information Assurance Systems Engineer, ensuring systems meet DoD cybersecurity standards and accreditation requirements.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the security posture of classified systems in accordance with DoD and IC cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Operate and support Type 1/High Assurance cryptographic devices, ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures.
• Administer Key Management Systems, including KMI, iApp, ACES, SKL, TKL, and NGLD, to support secure key distribution and lifecycle management.
• Design and support tactical network architectures, integrating IP-based systems, SATCOM, terrestrial transmission, voice, and tactical radio networks.
• Implement and enforce Information Assurance (IA) controls to support system accreditation and continuous monitoring.
• Perform system security analysis, incident response support, and vulnerability management in classified environments.
 

Responsibilities

Job Requirements:
• 25 years of Information Technology experience, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and secure network design.
• Extensive hands-on experience with COMSEC programs and Type 1/High Assurance cryptographic devices.
• Advanced knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and tools such as iApp, ACES, SKL, TKL, and NGLD.
• Proven expertise in tactical network design, including IP-based systems, SATCOM, and secure radio communications.
• Solid foundation in Information Assurance (IA) principles and practices, including system hardening and firewall management.
• Experience supporting system accreditation and compliance with DoD RMF or DIACAP frameworks.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to interface with both technical teams and government stakeholders. 
• Self-motivated with strong task follow-through.
 
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
 
Physical Requirements:
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. May include lifting to 25 pounds as necessary.

Posted Salary Range

USD $128,000.00 - USD $138,000.00 /Yr.
