Introduction:
Rivet Operations Company has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our rapidly growing team in the Colorado Springs, CO area. This position will provide support for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence, and Space and Missile Defense School. The objective of this effort is to ensure superior education and training on all elements of space and missile defense and real-world operational requirements.
Duties:
The Quality Assurance Specialist Senior oversees and ensures the delivery of high-quality systems, products, and services in support of DoD programs. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with contract requirements, military standards, and quality management frameworks, while driving continuous improvement across operations.
- Lead quality assurance activities including auditing, inspections, root cause analysis, process documentation, and quality control across various functional teams.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of DoD acquisition, sustainment, and lifecycle processes.
• Responsible for the preparation, monitoring and reporting of QA documents as necessary in support of the goals of the program manager and the government sponsor.
• Knowledgeable of QA and Standards and applies that knowledge to ensure deliverables meet established quality standards.
• Provide input to the Task Order Lead and the Program Manager on changes needed to correct deficiencies.
• Maintain independence, objectivity and integrity in data gathering and reporting.
• Design and prepare reports. Develop recommendations and provide consistent feedback to stakeholders.
• Support conversion and migration of data.
• Develop, implement, and manage Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) aligned with DoD and ISO standards
• Perform audits, inspections, and evaluations of program processes, deliverables, and performance metrics
• Support Configuration Management (CM) and Change Control Board (CCB) processes
• Identify and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA)
• Prepare and present reports, quality metrics, and briefings to internal leadership and government customers
• Ensure compliance with DFARS, MIL-STDs, and contract-specific quality requirements
• Support preparation for and execution of Government Acceptance Testing and audits
• Mentor junior staff and support the continuous improvement of QA processes and procedures
Requirements:
Experience:
• 12-15 years of quality assurance experience, with at least 5 years in a DoD or federal contracting environment
• Strong knowledge of DoD standards, including MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-973, ISO 9001, AS9100, and DCMA surveillance requirements
• Experience with DoD program lifecycle processes (development, integration, testing, sustainment)
• Proficiency in QA tools and methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, CAPA)
• Demonstrated success implementing and auditing quality management systems (QMS)
• Experience in preparing and managing quality-related documentation and records
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tools such as SharePoint, Jira, or similar platforms
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma certification preferred
• Completion of DAU or equivalent DoD quality management training a plus

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
